This particular Chimonanthus is planted at the base of west facing, 3 foot high wall, in not terribly improved clay. Its now about 4.5 feet and thriving. I think they’re H4 so hardy to about -10 although this one has survived -15 temps as its slightly sheltered.
Happy New Year to you as well! It looks beautiful. Not many have it here in the States. Gardens Illustrated had a nice article about them and lead me to ordering one. I have not received it yet but I am happy to see that others are pleased with it. Makes me think I did good. 🙂
That is lovely, do you find it does well for you? I thought it was a little tender although I may have muddled it with something else
